In 1996,the Lord instructed His servant, Rev. Judah Yinka Flourish to separate himself to a secluded place as He wanted to talk to him. He immediately discussed with his wife, Rev. Mrs Motunrayo Flourish after which he checked into a public school staff quarters where he was a teacher at the time. He went on a three day fast and prayers retreat at Ita- Merin Comprehensive high school, Ago Iwoye Ogun state Nigeria.
While in prayers, he heard God saying to him “IT IS TIME TO RAISE THE LAME.” “GET DOWN TO MONROVIA, I HAVE A SPECIAL WORK FOR YOU TO DO THERE AS YOU RAISE ROLE MODELS ….MAKING READY A PEOPLE PREPARED FOR THE LORD.” He immediately began to find out about MONROVIA and later discovered it was the capital of LIBERIA where there was a civil war going at the time. Fear came into him but decided to obey the VOICE of GOD in spite of all the contrary voices from friends and family.
Judah went to Lagos to buy his ticket for the journey but the only available means of travel was a ricket ship at Lagos sea port. He bought his ticket to begin the FAITH MISSIONARY JOURNEY. He left the shore of Nigeria and arrived JULY 25, 1997 with just five United states dollars in his pocket in a nation where he knew nobody.
While on board the ship, he met a young Liberian, Rev. Samuel Gray(late) who gladly took him into his family house. Immediately, the passion to get Liberians saved began to burn in him which motivated him together with his friend, to begin to evangelise the community where he stay.
In November 1997, he moved to Lakpazee by the leading of God. It was while there he met a young missionary from Nigeria who joined him to begin a fellowship under a plum tree around airfield, Sinkor. The fellowship began to grow with so many of those coming with plenty needs. He was busy not only preaching but giving out the meager resources he had to those who were in needs. He rented his first zinc room in GBANGI’S TOWN, SINKOR.
In November 1998, he travelled to Nigeria to bring his young newly wedded wife to be with him in Liberia with their two year old son, Judah Flourish. His wife was shocked when she saw where her husband lived. Being a Missionary herself right from her days in college, she put up courage to support her husband. She immediately joined the train of community evangelism and also began to help young girls who were coming into the fellowship.
Rev. Motunrayo supportive roles encouraged her husband to intensify the work. When the going was tough, she had to take up a teaching job at R. C LAWSON INSTITUTE, CONGO TOWN to ease the financial burden of the family while Rev. Flourish was doing the missions work full time.
In January 2000, the church services began with so many challeges part of which was the constant ejections from various places of worship until God divinely brought the church to Wroto town in Sinkor. It was by divine orchestration that the church was moved to 12th street Sinkor in Monrovia.
God spoke to him in the process of establishing this great missions in Liberia to encourage him to stay put with this God’s mandate.
God said to him, “NO MAN SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND BEFORE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE TO INTIMIDATE YOU. WHOSOEVER WANTS TO DESTROY THIS CHURCH, HIS GENERATION TO COME WILL NOT BE FREE FROM THE CURSE OF GOD.”
This word has been his motivation over the years.
A few years ago, God instructed him again to go pioneer a new church in Nigeria. The church is currently located in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria from where he oversees all New Destiny Churches in Africa. He is a faith- missionary who works with tenacity and vigorously pursuing the mandate of aggressive church planting. Pastor Judah is a man of integrity who you can support with you prayers and funds to enable him fulfill the mandate of God upon his life.
