Understanding Divine Wisdom

“Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. She will place on your head a graceful garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown.”
(Proverbs 4:5-9)

Confession: “I receive the gift of wisdom, I walk in the gift of wisdom and I demonstrate the gift of wisdom.”

Divine wisdom is operating the Word of God. It is obeying divine instructions given in the word of God.

“Many are looking for promises to claim instead of looking for instructions to obey.”

Without wisdom, one will be stranded in life. To succeed in life, marriage, business, etc, you need divine wisdom. I am talking about the wisdom of God.

“but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
(1 Corinthians 1:24-25)

You cannot be born again and not manifest the wisdom of Jesus. You are loaded with the spirit of wisdom. You must not be stranded on this earth. You carry solutions to earthly problems.

Hear this, every door has a key. The same way, every problem has solution. Solution is arrived at by the wisdom of a God. You are a wise person. You are not foolish.

The Signs of Divine Wisdom:

What are the things you do that reveals you are a wise person?

There are two kinds of people in this world:
*Foolish people. *Wise people. No neutrality. It is either I am wise or I am foolish.

Fools display certain signs; Wise display certain signs.

Wise people love God. (Luke 22:35-40)

Wise people love their neighbors.

*Wise believers are obedient to God and His Word.

“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known.
(Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

*Wise believers are forgiving.

They understand that unforgiveness, bitterness, malice could cause sickness and diseases in their bodies.

*Wise believers are humble.

“The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.”
(Proverbs 15:33)

Humble people are wise people. Pride and arrogance is the way of foolishness. Humility is the way of wisdom. Humility opens doors to honor. Humility is knowing your capacity and confess so. For example, if a woman is not humble, she will never enjoy her husband.

*Wise believers are faithful in little things.

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.
If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?
And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?
No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
(Luke 16:10-13)

*Wise believers are patient.

Patience is a virtue. If you don’t have it, you will make plenty mistakes. Sometimes, when God wants to teach you patient, He will send you difficult people to deal with. But many of us don’t know.

“And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
(Hebrews 6:11-12)

*Wise believers are focused.

They know where they are going. They know what they want out of life. They put their strength into their dreams and vision. They don’t play around. They are not lazy. They are hard working. They don’t just work hard. They work smart.

*Wise believers are self- disciplined.

They know how to exercise self control. They sleep at the right time. They don’t play when they are supposed to be working. They don’t spend money any how. They don’t sleep any how. I have never seen someone who is not self disciplined and succeed.

*Wise believers are generous.

God gives blesses us so we can be generous. Many people don’t understand the importance of generosity. They hold on tightly to what they own, unaware that selfishness often causes financial difficulties.

“You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”
(2 Corinthians 9:11)

“One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.”
(Proverbs 11:24)

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
(2 Corinthians 9:6)

*Wise believers give of their time and talents:

Whether or not you have a lot of money or material possessions, be a generous person with your time, looking for ways to help your church, others, or people in need. Follow Christ’s example by showing a passionate concern for others.

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.”
(Philippians 2:5-7)
